Manipal ‘Udega’: Rahul Subramanian in Manipal

Manipal: Renowned stand-up comedian Rahul Subramanian performed at an event organised by Las Viegas Comedy Club (LVC), Goa’s premier comedy club at Country Inn & Suites by Carlson, Manipal on January 20.

Rahul Subramanian is part of the comedy collective Random Chikibum, and has also appeared in videos for All India Bakchod. He is currently on tour with his show ‘Kal Mein Udega’.

Despite Sunburn being held on the same day, there was a high turnout for the comedian’s performance. “We were all excited for Rahul’s event for a long time and wanted to see his special. He was mesmerizing right from the start,” said Ananya Rao, a member of the audience.

The comedian kept his content polished and never failed to grasp the audience’s attention, as he poked fun at Tamil weddings, the role of DJs in a club and how futile they are. He also included one-liners and dark humor in his set.

The organisers also kept a Q&A at the end of the show, where the audience got the opportunity to interact with the comedian and ask him questions related to his work and life. On being asked by one of the audience members about how long it takes for him to write the content, he said that this is a compilation of multiple sets over the past two and a half years into one stand-up special.

“I’ve seen many specials, but this was one of the best. There wasn’t any inconvenience during the show, and we are planning a lot more,” said Kartik Sadvij, founder of the Comedy Club Manipal.
