BrandScan Celebrates Excellence in its 26th Year

MANIPAL: BrandScan, a Market Research Fair, was organised by T. A. Pai Management Institute (TAPMI), Manipal at KMC Greens on Sunday, November 4. The fair, alongside various market research events, also hosted an evening with dance, singing, fashion events.

This year marks the 26th edition of the fair. BrandScan is a market event in disguise that provides a medium for the students to research on live projects through a disguised market game. The idea is to collect unbiased  and natural responses of the consumers and to provide insights to companies based on research.

TAPMI Director, Professor Madhu Veeraraghava, during his inaugural address, talked about how events like BrandScan serve as a great platform for both classroom learning and industry-connect.

The first event of the day was ‘Little Stars: Kid’s Got Talent’ where kids between the age of 5 and 14 years had the stage to themselves and presented their talent in various fields such as singing and dancing.

This was followed by ‘Unscripted – The Movie Plot Twist’ where various teams from Manipal and nearby cities competed against each other.  The competition was won by the theatre group of Manipal College of Dental Sciences (MCODS) who gave their own ‘plot twist’ to the popular horror movie ‘The Conjuring’.

One of the biggest events of the evening,‘Panache – The world is your runway’, was the platform for various fashion groups, some of them being Fanatics, Glam & Glitz, Burning Ice, to showcase their skills. The theme of this year’s walk was ‘Evolution’ which was well portrayed by the teams that presented evolution in various forms like that of art, elements, human beings, e.t.c.

‘Footloose – Dance to Impress’, a group dance competition was also a part of the event where various dance groups from Manipal such as Meraki, Showstoppers, and many others performed. Blitzkrieg, a dance crew of Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT) Manipal bagged the first prize, where as Defyers Dance Crew came second.

The event was inaugurated by Devesh Ganguly, Vice President Marketing, Dr Oetkar India Pvt Ltd. A part of the event also occurred in a pavilion that had many stalls with various activities that the attendees could enjoy.
