Manipal: The ten day pre-events preceding Article-19, the Annual Communication fest of Manipal Institute of Communication promises to be a perfect amalgam of games, movies, music and parties! Article -19, clearly inspired from the Right to Freedom of Expression of the Indian Constitution is scheduled from 25th to 27th February.

The ten day gala affair, called “Article-19 pre-events” starting Feb 5th with Futsal will conclude on Valentines’ Night with a happy party. Played for three days between teams comprising five players in an indoor stadium – techniques and creativity will be the highlight of Futsal at the MIT Basketball court near 10th Block after 5 pm.  Other events include an unplugged concert on Feb 8th, Fifa ’10 gaming tournament on consoles in Burn Out on Feb 9th and screening of Oscar nominated movies from 10th to 13th February at the Planetarium.

The screenings named, “Road to Oscars” will bring together not so easily-accessible movies like 'Up in the Air', 'District 9' and 'The Hurt Locker' to name a few. While the Oscar jury will make its taste clear on March 7th, you have an exclusive opportunity to discuss and pick your favorites.

The pre-events team of Article-19 vows to steal your hearts away with a Valentines’ theme party – “Heart Attack” on Feb 14th at EGDE. The party will mark the culmination of pre-events but herald the arrival of much awaited main event.
