Manipal: Manipal University (MU) organised International Evening at the Fortune Inn Valley View Hotel on August 16. The event was organised to present Project Amchi and to bring together members of Project Amchi, AIESEC, MU and IAESTE Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT) to showcase the diversity of students at the university.

Project Amchi is aimed at educating and increasing the skills of local health care providers which will allow them to provide basic dental health care in Ladakh.

During the occasion Dr. H Vinod Bhat, Pro Vice Chancellor, MU spoke about the importance of getting students to the University from international forums. He also emphasized upon the efforts made by the University to provide its students with a global perspective and render them with mobility.

“International evening is about celebrating the aspect of international presence brought to the university town. Therefore, through this event we intend to offer our interns with different cultural experiences and an opportunity to explore as well as interact,” said Tanmay Srivastava, President, IAESTE, IndiaMIT.

The evening ended by dance performances by MIT dance group ‘Blitzkrieg’; plays as well as fashion shows put across by ‘Burning Ice’ and the foreign interns present for the occasion.
