Manipal: The Mid-Autumn or the Mooncake festival is a Chinese lunar harvest festival. The students of Malaysian origin, pursuing BDS in Manipal University celebrated the festival in front of Mandavi Emerald on September 28 which happened to be the 15th day of eighth month of the
Chinese calendar. Lanterns were lit and hung to the tree making a wish and it is believed that it comes true. The students managed to get the cakes from their homeland for the festival. Mooncakes are the special delicacies offered among friends and family, an important part of the celebration. The students made letters ‘BDS 3’ with candles and blew them making a wish.
