Article 19 to be held from February 21-231 min read

Manipal:  Entering its fourteenth year, Article 19, the core communication fest of Manipal Institute of Communication (MIC) will be held from February 21-23. The annual event will be inaugurated by renowned Kannada writer Jayant Kaikini.

The three day fest will feature workshops and lectures to be conducted by media commentator and founder of thehoot.org Sevanti Ninan; co founder of Perfect Relations and columnist Dilip Cherian and founder of Faking News Rahul Roushan. Article 19 will also include a workshop on cartooning from Mid Day cartoonist Satish Acharya and an interaction with Independent corporate filmmaker Maya Chandra.

“Article 19 is celebrating the fifteenth year of its inception this time; we have come a long way being the oldest core communication fest in the country. We have always thrived for freedom of expression and free speech,” said Raviraj Kini, Faculty Coordinator Article-19.

Films and documentaries made by students from various colleges throughout India will also be screened at the fest whereas awards for the best entries in different categories will be given out on the second day at Express Awards. The last day of the fest will come to an end with the “Arabian Nights” themed Fun Fair.
