MIC to organise Manipal film festival from April 261 min read

Manipal: Manipal Institute of Communication, Manipal University, will be organising a three day film festival from April 26 to mark the celebration of 100 years of Indian Cinema. The event will be held in MIT A/C seminar hall till April 28.

The festival will screen nine films of different regional languages and also host lectures and discussions by Prof. Manu Chakravarthy, award-winning film critic, Prof. Phaniraj, a well-known film analyst, Manek Premchand, author of ‘Romancing the Song’, and a workshop by Ramchandra P.N, renowned Film Maker from Mumbai.

Movies from different decades including Satyajit Ray’s Pather Panchali, Raj Kapoor’s Shree 420, Shyam Benegal’s Mammo, K.Viswanath’s Sankarabharanam, Hrishikesh Mukherjee’s Golmaal, Ramesh Sippy’s Sholay, Mani Ratnam’s Bombay, Girish Kasaravalli’s Gulabi Talkies and Anwar Rasheed’s Ustad Hotel are screened at the festival.
