KMC celebrates Onam dance festival1 min read
Apart from classical dances like Kathakali, Mohiniattam and other folk dances from Kerala, students also performed on some Bollywood and English songs. There was even a fashion show and a play depicting the story of Onam. ‘I performed for Keli for the first time today. I was pretty nervous, but it was a lot of fun’, said Ronnie Joseph, an intern at KMC.
The annual event is usually organised by third year students at KMC. ‘This year, we were unable to raise funds for Keli as we faced tax issues due to government rules. As challenging as it was, we pulled it off and we didn’t think we could’, said Ann John, a member of the organising committee. In fact, other members of the committee stated that this year’s turn-out was more than last year.
The event was inaugurated by chief guest Dr K Ramanarayan, Vice Chancellor, Manipal University and guest of honour Dr Pradeep Kumar, Dean of KMC Manipal.
