Manipal: To raise money for future community related projects, a kite flying festival called Tarang was organised by VSO at End Point on February 8.

“The whole purpose of this event with the tagline ‘One Sky One World’ is to tell everyone that we have one sky irrespective of our status in the society, and it is the same sky for everyone to fly kites,” said Harshita Amrit, a co ordinator of the logistics department.

Apart from kite flying, there were food and game stalls, and a photo booth as well. “This time, we pulled out all the stops for publicity and organised a flash mob and a karaoke night to draw more participants to the event,” said Srilekha, one of the co ordinators. “For the first time, Flash mob and Karaoke night were held at Kamath Circle and Tiger Circle before 2 days of the festival which helped us in increasing the crowd and making the event successful,” she added

Dr Divya Sri, a faculty member from Manipal Institute of Technology said, “It was a nice event, not just because of the charitable cause, but also because it gave us all an opportunity to relive our childhood.”
