Manipal: An All American rock theme was followed at the Welcomegroup Graduate School of Hotel Management’s (WGSHA) food fest on March 12 and 13 at the Valley View Hotel.

“The food is good and quite reasonably priced, but I was informed about this fest by a friend, so I feel that they should have publicised it a bit more” commented Aditya Ray, another third year student at MIT.

Called Juke Box, the two day food fest celebrated rock music and American food by naming their dishes after popular songs. On both days, they were overbooked but the head chef Guru was prepared for it. “We want to provide to the students what other restaurants in Manipal cannot offer, and in the context of the beef ban in Maharashtra, when it comes to food, I believe that there should be no limits.”

“I really liked the food, especially the soup. I was also really excited to try the beef burger, but I feel like the alternate chicken option for the main course tasted better,” said Nikhil John, a third year (Manipal Institute of Technology) MIT student.
