Reading Time: 2 minutes

We look back at the blood donation camp organised by the Rotaract club of Manipal at the MIT food court premises celebrating India’s 70th year of Independence. The event was preceded by a play by ADA Dramatics, a theatre group of the Manipal Institute of Technology on the eve of the celebrations.

By pricking a finger with a small needle, the volunteers determine the blood group of the donators and check if the blood iron level is sufficient || Picture Courtesy – Baisil Kunjumon

Students are made to lie down as their blood is taken through a needle inserted into a vein in their arm. This process takes around six to ten minutes. || Picture Courtesy – Baisil Kunjumon

The blood donors were given a certificate of appreciation along with an iron-rich drink, biscuits and muffins. || Picture Courtesy – Baisil Kunjumon
